HEY.
A couple minutes ago it was 11/11/11 11:11:11pm.
It would have been cool if I put up this post right then, but I was too busy taking this screen shot on my phone:
It would have been worth it but the iPhone home screen has got to be the worst representation of 11/11/11 11:11:11pm of all time.
So with that giant let down, the second of 11:11:11 did not live up to the hype for...

COOPER CITY BEATS ST. THOMAS & WINS DISTRICT!!!
^That’s the story on the FRONT page of sun-sentinel.com — which just goes to show how huge this is. It’s higher than Andy Rooney dying and some big coke bust.
Cooper City High School is notoriously known for losing football games. We would always go to the games and the team always played hard, but wins were generally hard to come by. Last year they did great though, they...

BriTANicK at the UCB!
On Friday night Erin and I when to see a live BriTANicK show at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
The theater, which is this small, dark, underground, crappy sort of place, is actually really awesome and really popular. It was founded by Amy Poehler among with some other legit people who are part of the Upright Citizens Brigade comedy troupe.
The show was great too. Brian & Nick, the...

IT'S SNOWING IN OCTOBER?!
Hi.
It’s been like blizarding today. If someone could enlighten me as to wtf is going on that would be awesome.
The past few weeks we’ve had some really nice fall temps. It’s been in the 60’s, a few rainy days but mostly pretty nice. It’s been awesome! Then, all of the sudden it’s 35 and snowing. How is that even possible?? Usually it doesn’t start...

Quality wireless service from AT&T.
Places in Manhattan where my AT&T cell phone doesn’t get service:
In large buildings.
In small buildings.
In medium sized buildings.
In all apartments.
In all classrooms.
In all offices.
On the street.
On the sidewalk.
In creepy alleys where you’d need to call 911 from when you’re getting murdered.
Underground.
In a car.
On a bridge.
Near advertisements that...

Fall in New England & the shortest road trip ever!
My parents were up in Vermont visiting UVM for Parents Weekend, and I decided to drive up to see them and my sister (pictured). Problem is, I don’t get out of SNL until 1:30am on Saturday nights, and have to be back at SNL on Tuesdays at noon. So it had to be the shortest road trip ever.
Of the 36 hours this trip lasted, I spent 10 of them driving, 7 of them sleeping, and the remaining 19...

NYC CELEBS
I’ve seen some cool celebs around NYC over the past week:
This is Guy Fieri and Mario Batali (in the convertible) right outside of my apartment. I could literally see this from my window. No idea why they were shooting on my residential street in the Village, but I’ve been told it was for Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. I was on my way to class when I noticed this so I wish I could have...

Preordering iPhones is so obnoxious.
I’ve purchased one iPhone in my life, and that was the first one that came out in 07.
Every year since then, when Apple releases a new iPhone, I buy it, then sell my previous phone unlocked on eBay. The first time I did it, I actually made a profit, and the other two times I just about broke even. So it’s awesome because I get the new iPhone every year, without actually having to...

Oh hey, I'm still alive.
I try to post something on my blog at least once a week, preferably more.
Woops.
It’s been like a month since a posted anything. And it’s not like I necessarily forgot, it’s just like, it’s been so long that I don’t even know what to write. So here I am, one month later writing about how I don’t know what to write. COOL! Not that anyone particularly missed my posts or even noticed that they...

September 11th - Tenth Anniversary
As tragic an event as 9/11 was, it’s amazing what it’s anniversary does to this city. It brings out the patriotism and brotherhood in all of us, and I’m honored that I got to be here for the tenth anniversary.
Despite the fact that there were new terror threats made on the city, on the 9/11 anniversary, I know that New York City and this country are safer than they’ve...

Back to schooooool.
Well this week was the first week of school, and it officially feels like the summer was a year and a half ago.
I’m actually only taking three classes plus an internship this semester. They are: Intermediate Short Form Production, Producing for TV, Production & Technology (GenEd) and the internship with SNL.
(Haha, I just noticed that every single one of my classes has some...

STUCK IN VERMONT!!!
So I came here to Vermont because my sister is starting college at UVM next week. The fam has been here since last Tuesday, but my plan was to fly up Thursday from NYC, be there when Kristi moved into her dorm yesterday, and then fly back on today, while my parents were supposed to fly back to SoFla on Sunday.
Hah. Then Hurricane Irene happened.
The storm that was supposed to give some South...

I SURVIVED THE EAST COAST QUAKE OF 2011!
Actually I didn’t feel it at all.
I was walking down 14th Street at the time and nobody on the street even noticed anything. We were finding out via text, not via earth vibrations.
They were saying on TV that, in NYC anyway, people on the ground weren’t really feeling it, while people in buildings, especially high rises, were seeing some small shaking. So all the local channels...

Birthday, Part Two! New DSLR & Ft.Laud Beach at...
In my last post I talked about how my birthday was on Monday the 15th and how at midnight I lost lots of money at the casino, spent the day with my family, and got an amazing new DSLR camera.
Well, my friend Kendra’s birthday is also on the 15th, and she was spending a few days at the Marriott BeachPlace Hotel on Fort Lauderdale Beach, so at around 11:30 (had to get there before midnight...

I'm 21!!!
I’m not really sure how this happened. Like three days ago I was a loser Freshman in high school and now I’m a 21 year-old Senior in college. But hey, I’ll take it.
So Monday the 15th was my birthday, and while I’m not usually big into birthday celebrations, I did want to do something to commemorate turning 21. Especially since all birthdays after this one suck....

So! Couple things.
1. As I briefly mentioned with a link to my Facebook in that last post, I found out last week that I got the internship with Saturday Night Live! I’ll be working in the Post Production department starting early next month. As with the other internships, I won’t be allowed to talk about the details on my blog, but I really appreciate all of the people who support...

ENTOURAGE!!
I’m so happy Entourage is back.
It’s such a great way to end the summer every year, and even though this is the last season, last night’s premiere was great. I kinda feel like I’m the only one who really thinks that, though. There were lots of negative comments showing up on my news feed at least, but I liked it.
I really need to rewatch last season though because there...

South Pointe Park
I’ve been spending a lot of time in Miami this summer it seems like. It’s weird because I feel like when you live in Cooper City / Broward County, you have this idea that Miami is so far away. I know I grew up thinking that, but it’s really not at all. My dad works in Miami and goes there every day. And while maybe during rush hour Miami can feel like years away from here, you...

My yearly trip to UF.
This weekend I went up to Gainesville for what seems to be turning into an annual summer trip. As much as I love to hate on the Gators, that place grows on me every time I visit, haha. I was only there for Fri & Sat, but the kids at UF (and at all the big Florida schools, for that matter) are so chill and nice, so it was a lot of fun. I wish we had that at NYU.
Anyway! I got to hang out...

¡Bienvenido a Miami!
David and I hung out on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach today. Five things happened:
1. David had his first Shake Shack experience! Which as we all know can be life changing. And he enjoyed it.
2. I used the new Final Cut X at the Apple store. It’s as terrible as everyone says it is.
3. When we walked out onto the beach, this girl came up to us with her friend and said “Hey, she...

Visiting NBC Miami
Thursday night I got to hang out at the NBC6 studios for their 11 o’clock broadcast. My super cool friend / former CTVer, Ashley, is an intern there and hooked me up with a quick tour around the newsroom and studios. Everyone there was so chill and awesome. And as you can see from the picture above, they have such a nice building.
NBC6 is an O&O NBC station meaning they are owned...

I love CTV.
A bunch of us from CTV ‘08 got together for dinner last night. We haven’t all been together like this in over a year, maybe 2, so it was great seeing everyone again.
The best part about any CTV reunion is that really, nobody has changed. We’re the same kids that were running around Cooper City High with cameras and rapping about Ms. Doll & the 3400’s. The only...

The Marlins had a 4th of July Fireworks show after the game tonight at Sun Life Stadium in Miami so Angela and I went to check it out. We lost to the Phillies (expected) but the fireworks were pretty sweet. Here are a few clips from my phone.

Marlins lose, David wins, and I finally watch...
So I have these two friends named David and Angela. They’re pretty cool. I’ve been doing cool things with them this week.
First we went to a Marlins game in Miami. If you haven’t heard, the Marlins have been awesome this season. We have been tied for first with the Phillies in the NL East, and at worst we were a few games back. Then we went on an 11-game losing streak and...

CCHS c/o 2011 Graduation & Chilling in SoFla
My sister graduated from high school on Monday. Whaaaat?!
I’m not sure where the past like 7 years have gone but they’ve peaced and here we are in 2011, me, a rising Senior in college, and my sister, graduated from high school and heading to UVM in the fall.
Anyway I’m really glad I got to go to the ceremony. Despite the fact that it was long and boring (an 18-minute speech,...

Done with Late Night with Jimmy Fallon
This post is a week late… but last Wednesday was my last day interning at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon!
It’s been quite a few months, I can tell you that. And overall it was a really great experience that I’m glad I got to be a part of.
Definitely going to miss some of the other interns over there. The Late Night Spring 2011 interns were a great group. Many of them have now...

It is such a small world.
I had so many strange coincidences happen to me at the airport in New York tonight.
First, I was sitting at my gate, waiting to board my plane to SoFla, when our plane arrives from Long Beach, California. So I’m watching the people unboard the plane, when all of the sudden, a familiar face walks off. It’s Mark, someone that I met on a film shoot a couple months ago. Weird thing is,...

T.Sling & Angela in NYC
I’m like over a week late with this. My bad. But hey, Taylor and Angela were here visiting!
You know that feeling where like, you have a lot of work to do because it’s the end of the semester, but your friends are in town so you want to ditch the work and hang out with them instead? That feeling pretty much summed up the entire time they were here.
I think I found a good balance...

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!
Lol this is a picture of the class evaluation I was filling out today. I wrote my name instead of “course name.” So much for anonymous, haha. Never the less, I’m officially done with classes for the most stressful semester so far in my college career.
Unfortunately I’m not peacing out for summer vacation like everyone else quite yet. My internship doesn’t end until...

Technology sucks.
I just wasted the past two days working on this 10-page script that was due last Thursday (it’s now Sunday at 2:30 in the morning if you hadn’t noticed) and then Celtx decided to mess up the file and delete everything? Awesome. Because there’s nothing I’d like to do than start over on that right now.
F you Celtx. Angela and Taylor are here. I want to be with them and not...

Ground Zero and the News Media (pics)
After the news broke last night, I felt like I had to take advantage of the fact that I’m in New York City, so I went out to Union Square at around midnight. That’s where people were partying in the streets when Obama won the election, so I figured it’d be the hot spot again. Strangly enough, nobody was there.
We all know now that Ground Zero (pictured above) has been the...

YANKEES > YOU
I love going to Yankee Stadium. That place is like a kingdom.
Yesterday Dylan and I went to go see the Yankees play (and beat) the Toronto Blue Jays (lolol why does Canada even have a baseball team?). I’ve gone to a bunch of games before through NYU, but I hate their seats. You can’t see half the field from over there. So this time I went on StubHub and got my own seats. I found...

Sprite Refreshing Films
A friend of mine from home was involved in a student short film contest sponsored by Sprite called Sprite Refreshing Films. The way it works is that Sprite organized teams in 6 major US cities where each team creates a film, and then the films (and therefore the cities) compete against each other.
So obviously you should vote to help Miami, my friend Max, and the movie win!
Watch the movie,...

Making my own Spring Break!
I didn’t get to come home for Spring Break this year because I had to work and do preproduction for my movie, but last week was an off week on Jimmy Fallon (meaning they’re not shooting new episodes) and the movie is done, so I made my own Spring Break and went home to SoFla from last Tuesday until yesterday.
It was definitely too short, but it was great.
I was kind of hoping to do...
